Park City, UT—Dr. Eileen Gallagher, an eight-year resident of Park City, announced she will seek election to the Board of Education for the Park City School District, District 2. Dr. Gallagher is a local pediatrician.
“I am proud to announce my candidacy for the Park City Board of Education in District 2,” Dr. Gallagher said. “I have devoted my professional life to the service of children and community and have personally and professionally advocated for strong public schools and healthy communities.”
Dr. Gallagher added that she feels strongly the Board needs new members with fresh perspectives to address the needs of the community and the mission of the Park City Board of Education. “I bring great listening skills, a commitment to open communication, as well as a strong sense of mission and responsibility to the children and families of the District,” she said. “I know how to put children first, advocate for our educators, manage projects, and provide a safe and healthy environment for our children to grow and learn. I want our educators and our students to reach their greatest potential and ensure have the Park City Board of Education effectively allocates the resources provided by the hard-working families of our District.”
Committed to serving this community personally and professionally,, Dr. Gallagher has been involved with a number of non-profits in a variety of volunteer roles, including teaching at St. Mary’s Religious Education program, volunteering at People’s Health Clinic, and working with Citizens’ Climate Lobby. She has been a nonpartisan election observer, worked on local, state, and national campaigns, and advocated for greater youth involvement in our political system.
“My skills and expertise as well as my commitment to our youngest community members will benefit the Park City School District,” she said. “I look forward to helping our community empower our teachers to help students equitably achieve their social and academic potential.”
Dr. Gallagher has raised five children, four of whom have attended public schools in the Park City School District including McPolin Elementary, Ecker Middle School, Treasure Mountain Junior High, and Park City High School.
